Question which octane do i run

hey every i have kind of silly question to ask so here it goes...i just got a 98 cbr900rr and i was woundering what octane honda recommends running in this bike...my 2001 zx6r says 92 octane or more..just woundering ....please help

service manual doesnt say but in thinking premium given the 11:1 compression ratio

the reason i ask is because there is a guy here at work that says in some bikes they recommend to use less octane..

I would stay at around 91 oct. You go lower on a bike that revs like sportbikes, you will run into problems of detonation and pinging. Anything 10.5 - 12.8 like mine needs higher oct. I don't want you to think you can't run the lower grade fuels but I would not recomend it. You will pay for it in the long run.....
