Is my frame bent? (pics)

well I bought this bike from a guy as a totaled bike but it didn't look too bad when I got it. all cosmetic kinda thing. I looked it over pretty good and he did too a few time before. He bought it at auction or something.

anyhow I've been riding it and it feels great no issues then I got farings and stuff and started to put it together and something's not right.

the headlight and stay are new so I know they are fine

the upperfaring is from the bike originally, and the lowers I snagged off ebay. well I'll be damned if the front tire damn near hits the lower farings and it looks like it at one time may have hit the radiator.

some of the faring bolts don't line up even close. so here are the pics. you decide. then tell me what a frame is gonna cost (ouch!)

this shows how the back faring bolt is way out of alignment. if I force it into position the front of the faring hits the front tire

Hey bro,
I really hate to tell you but, eithor the froks are tweaked a bit, or the frame up by the steering head is bent... eithor way, something is bent for sure.

Your best bet, is to take it up to a local shop to look at. If you have a mechanic buddy, take it to him, he probably will not charge you to look at it.

If it is the frame, those are expensive... around 2 Grand for a clean titled one.

I bet that bike stoppies like CRAZY though.......

damn. cause the forks were replaced before I got it! the other ones were tweaked a bit.

I can fix the frame if I know how far off it is. Like it need another frame there to judge it.

that or a throw in the towel and street fighter it.

it does stoppie real easy!

get some measurements from swingarm pivot point to front wheel axle shaft and compare with some other bikes. should help you locate the problem area.

are side fairings the same for 600, 750 and 1000?, maybe its just your fairings, just a thought, i dont know anything about suzuki.

little know fact that kinda sucks about inverted forks. The fact is the forks are so much stronger at what would be the bend point (up near the top do to the whole leverage factor) that the neck of the frame usually bends before the forks do (i had a budy rearend a car that swerved in front of him and stopped he was doin about 50 at impact the forks never bent but it bent the hell out of the frame neck). Look up under the bike right behind the lower triple tree that is where u will se the medal wrinkled on the neck. Thats usually the only spot ive ever been able to see any disfigeration of the metal in the frame in these type of cases. But i could be wrong for ur sake i hope i am.

do what? LOL

the orig forks were leaky probably from the orginal assclown trying to stun but at 2k miles he failed miserably

sooooooo....anyone got a frame laying around?

better yet- what are yout thoughts on straightening these? I straightened my rear sets and strength tested them and they are cool. (500lbs static drop)

I can get this frame back the 2 ****ing degrees it's off...BUT will it be very compromised much by some heat? should I then fab up my own front sub frame that goes from the head tube at 2 points and drops around/underneath the cases then heads back to the swingarm arm pivot area?

what would it cost? I'd just ship it there and they'd hook it up?

I went and compared it to a new gixxer today. yea it's a tiny bit wavy right off the head tube where the metal is thin.

check into computrack, I hear that they will straighten a frame for around 7 bills. I think Teach from C6 might have a little more info on them then I do.

Hope this helps bro
