Dude you got screwed. The guy that sold it to you knew what was going on. It happens alot. You think "coincidentally" the forks were replaced and it just so happens only the lowers, not the upper were missing? Don't try to fix it yourself, aluminum is a bitch, and it will never be quite right. Just drop the cash and get a frame or send it to computrack.

It's cool. I don't really feel like I got screwed whether he knew or now...it was cheap :D

hell I just don't want to take the whole bike apart again.

I guess I have to either way now. I'm gonna call the frame man in sac. he's so close and still in business so he must be doing something right. :D

thanks all.

hehe :D I rode 525 miles on saturday and it was fine..even w/ a bent front wheel. the farings are on and don't hit the way I have them pinned and cut.

what is DMV going to say when I try to register it? Will they even check? I don't want to reg it but the paper license plate isn't going to last for long and the chico PD is already looking for someone that matches my description wasn't me tho!

frame

I laid my bike down last summer and the front tire glanced offf of a tree and it did the exact same thing to the fork lowers and steering column. Instead of buying a new frame I brought it to Computrack and they did a friggin sweet job. However, make sure u talk to the guys down there before hand, because depending on the area of stress and how much, it could cost you nearly as much as a new frame, I guess it depends on the situation. You may have other areas that are bent as well. I would check the gaps from the lip of the tank to the frame as well just to make sure that the steering column is not the only place that it bent just my

Leave it You got it cheap it works!!! Right No worries I put a few together that came out like that If you get it pulled back out it will weaken it! If you are really concerned about it not looking right Get some aftermarket Tripple tree's They make some that adjust your Rake angle! I think Vortex's do I am not sure! from the looks of your front tire to lower air dam clearance you are only 3/4 of an inch from normal at the most! If you figure that is telegraphed from your center post being Very minimal movement!

Looks to me like it is bent right behind the ramair holes. Alot by the looks of it! Hopefully you can get it straightened reasonably.

thanks everyone. I'm still not sure what to do. the thing that sucks the most is when I come down hard after a wheelie the tire hits the radiator mount. and now the rad touches the headers a bit which makes me run a bit hotter at slow speeds.

I like the idea about different rake! that would be the ticket! I'll look into it.

thanks again all!

Just keep in mind, if there are any stress cracks in the frame or on a weld, you might be in for a surprise on the trick azz stoppie.........

Schwartz will become famous soon enough
Quick way to tell for sure is to measure your wheele base. Just measure from axle center front to axle center rear and that's your wheele base. The wheele base should be around 55" but it's on the stat sheet for the bike. If it was me I wouldn't **** around with a bent frame. You more prone to get tank slaps when setting down a wheelie or doing longer stoppies.
If your asken me about it I'd do it right. Years of engineering and development went into that bike and it's a nice bike. I'd spend some time and money and do it right. When your done you'll know a bunch more about bikes!!
DUde I'm just sayen it's dangerous and tryen to look out. Either way you go good luck with it.
Peace!

I bet it turns a lot quicker than a stock gixxer!! Hey, I second what Schwartz said. Sport bikes are already slap happy without the wheelbase being shortend and having a steeper fork angle. That bike could be dangerous.
