Question wont start

i have a 99 f4 and for some reason the damn thing will not start. it turns over trying to start but it will not get going. even with the choke on. it will sputter and then backfire shooting a couple small flames out the pipe. i believe its obviously not getting fuel, but why? anyone have this problem? or anyone know how to fix it. its been sitting in my shed all winter (not heated) and i wanted to make sure it was ready for a nice day. any help will be appriciated

Sounds more like an ignition problem than a fuel problem. If it shot out flames, it is flooding and burning off timing. Check the ignition system

Did you winterize the bike properly? I hope you didn't just let it sit there without prepping it.

do you have a lot of miles on the plugs - like 8,000 or more. It sounds like it's flooding, cold weather with weak plugs may cause that.
