Tag Placement

TAG PLACEMENT
How many of you guys have your tag attached to the stock tag bracket tucked all the way down by the shock? and if so will the cops try to stop me if they don't see it or is it all good just as long as the tag is on there.

I second that, there's a cop that comes up at hooters every now and again on bike night, just to *** with us... Walks around lookin at all the tags. All while somebody's house is getting broken into across town...

Re: Tag Placement

If ya put it where ya can't clearly see it and without a light you will have trouble with the law! Now weight your options, The ticket for obstructed plate in MI is more than no plate at all, so sometimes I keep it in the trunk and if I "pull"over then I just say it just fell off and I am on my way home, and that's if I stop!! Those new gixxers look tight with it up under there!

Re: Tag Placement

I agree with that...I run no plate showing because if I dip then there is no chance of getting caught by ur plate numbers....but I have it in my trunk so if I am already pulled over I can say it fell off or some bullshit.

Re: Tag Placement

im on my 4th bike and have never ran plates. everytime i get rolled i tell them i got rear ended by a fork lift at a job site. then i proceed to go into a story about how i had to replace the entire sub frame and back end. normally they just let me go because they feel sorry for me. but then again, i dont stop most of the time either, only on streets and i got pulled on the on ramp once

Talking Re: Tag Placement

I use chainwax and wd-40 to lightly coat my plate. All the road dirt covers it and I have actually had cops pass me in un-marked cars, attempt to pull me over, and still not get my plate. It is not covered, just dirty, no law against that. It is truly un-readable at even 3 ft!!

Or you can go with the custom plate WVVWVWW, let him define between all the w's and v's at a high rate of speed bouncing up and down!!!! FTP
Yup, here in Mi also, it can be obstructed plate if it is "obstructed"/dirty to where you can not read it
