Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

Cracked my new one when installing the ProTaper big bar kit and need to order one pronto. Being as the other one cracked, is there any negatives to going billet? Any preferred brands that take a licking and have a stock-like appearance to them? I'm thinking 50Stunt, but open to suggestions!

Thanks!!

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

i prefer plastic, only for the reason being it will crack at 25.00 to replace, vs billet that will bend and is what 80? to replace. Just my .02

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

I have a 50stunt billet throttle on my 50 and it's great. Indestructible and really smooth. On my Pitster Pro I have a trail bikes billet throttle and it really nice for the price. It's only $35.

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

I was looking at the ebay ones and didn't really know if the quality was there... Glad to hear it is! I dig the look of the 50stunt one more, but also $25 more too.

I did run into that one or similar, trail bikes billet throttle, and would buy it but wasn't sure about the 1/4 turn part, figured it'd be harder to control wheelies with it?

I definitely need a billet though, apparently I'm retarded and can't tighten the control down and break brand new stuff, LOL!

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

http://www.esd-mfg.com/50stunt/contr...t_throttle.htm

May be a waste of $ in a sense, but I was going to spend the extra for the 50stunt.com.... I dig the stock-look a little more, but more so cause I want to contriubute back to them for the help installing it with their videos.

I was fixing to order it and it says I need a 90 degree cable... Doesn't make sense. Their video shows them using a straight one... The pics on their website for the big bar kit shows it being straight. Both look identical to the ProTaper one. Can anyone verify it'll fit? I'd ask them, but no online support?!

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

Well, can't edit my last post?? Please ignore it... Looks like if I went with theirs gotta buy a $25 cable with 90 on it.. As much as I'd like to get it, can't see paying $65 plus $25 when I can get one like Jack or Scott have for $40 shipped. Oh well.

You will need the 90 degree cable with the trail bikes throttle as well.

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

Damn it! I can't stop spending I guess! LOL. Thanks man, will definitely get a set of them before I learn...save me $$$ in the long run, plus when friends play on it too. I need a taller kickstand for sure too, fiddy leans WAY WAY WAY over now with the Stage 1 suspension. Of course could use some pegs too, lol. Damnit.

I saw these on his site, but no confirmation that they will fit the ProTaper... Do you know for sure, or just call them up and ask?

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

I'm not sure the bar ends would really differ too much from RB, PT or 50S? If they're all 7/8" diameter, seems they would... Guess it depends on the schedule of the tubing if anything..

they might not fit! ryan moore had to custom make mine for the protapers. its not the 7/8 size that matters its the inside diameter. send ryan a message and ask him.

Re: Throttle - Billet Or No Billet?

This blows... Got my billet throttle and there's not enough slack in the throttle cable itself to work? The outside sheath is long enough, but the cable isn't.

I'm kinda wondering if I got the wrong throttle cable with my kit. It's long enough, but the inside cable doesn't seem to be and I wonder why that's when I get it to crank it revs reel high for 15sec and then dies. Then won't crank for a while...
