Fiddy usage??

Hey everyone,

i'm picking up a 50 soon but was wondering what the average usage on a preowned 50 would be acceptable? there's one i'm looking at with about 80 hours (so the seller says) on it and its a 2000 , not sure if i should take the plunge since i'm going to be going 88c or not, but it's a good deal so i'm a bit confused. what does everyone think? i'm going to be stuntin it and beatin on it, so would going preowned with that many miles be asking for a popped block, any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

2k is way too much for a 50. dont worry about the hours. 50's are indestructible as long as everything looks and feels str8 you'll be fine. if your spending 2k tho go to your local honda/yamaha dealer and pick up a minty one for about that price

Buy a honda start it see how it runs/sounds . Hours ,well thats not something to ask cause no way to really know if they are being honest . I ride 50's , a 2000 and up model will do .

Re: Fiddy usage??

How much is he asking for ? Is it all stock ? If it's decked out for dirt , and it was used off road as mx for the last 8 years ,
it's probably worn alot . If it's stock and his little son rode it around a few times a year for 8 years , it's probably still in good shape .

If your gonna put a 88 kit it anyway , it will be fresh again . Unless the trans is already messed up .

Ride it and see if it shifts ok . A stock xr50 that's 8 years old should be pretty cheap .

the seller is asking $650 for it but with no title and all stock except for the plastics , he said he can provide bill of sale but the xr50 was purchased from a friend(....) so i'm a bit weary. he has the stock plastics and it was ridden by his daughter who has outgrown it , not sure if it's seen any dirt or not but i'm almost sure that it has, what do you guys think?

Re: Fiddy usage??

I think $650 is a little too expensive for a stock 2000 xr50 .

Re: Fiddy usage??

i was thinking the same thing, i offered him less but he didnt budge, i'm sure there are other people out there who are willing to buy it at that price, i just think its a bit much for something thats 8 yrs old and with that much ride time, he doesnt seem too technically savvy so proper maintenance is out of the question, all he did was do oil changes, and even at that they were only a handful.

I dont think so because 50's havent changed since 2000, Id rather pay 650 for a clean 2000 than 650 for a OK 06
