all of the people at the scene there looked kind of shocked to me, you could see one of his buddies is on the phone with the authorities...... in the beginning of the video they do check to see if he's still breathing but they find no heart beat....and plus you are not allowed to move an injured person cause it might do more harm than good....I guess there wasn't much they can do , except wait for an ambulance to come.

Re: Tragic R1 accident in Europe...

I'm guessing his friends were in shock. You'd have to be. Different people react differently. It probably didn't even seem real. And the camera? I too agree that I might have reacted poorly to somebody filming at that point. However, if this crash was the car's fault, maybe the guy filming was trying to get any evidence he could as to exactly where/when/how the crash happened.

We had a crash at a show this year, that resulted in a serious injury. And what happened was exactly what you saw. A bunch of people shuffling around, barely speaking.

And yes, they did the right thing by not taking his helmet off. In a crash, leave the helmet on! As somebody else said, it might be the only thing holding the victim's head together. As far as CPR or anything like that, with the amount of blue blood filling his face and his hands, it is obvious that there was EXTREME internal bleeding going on there. It is very sad, but that guy was likely dead on impact.

RIP to that rider and may his friends stay strong in a difficult moment.

Re: Tragic R1 accident in Europe...

Where in the hell is the emergency response? Damn. The rider was obviously dead on impact, and if they attempted to CPR, his chest could have caved in from more than likey being broken.Like was said, look at his hand, at the rate of speed he prolly hit that car your body becomes one big bruise. You cant really blame the driver of the car either, the rider should'nt have been goin so fast on road like that. You can see the women in the car moving towards the end so I hope she made it.As far as where he landed, its presumable the point of impact and where the victims came to rest was different. They probaly hit more towards the center of the road. This looks to me to be nothing more than a tragic accident.RIP

Re: Tragic R1 accident in Europe...

R.I.P

its only a five minute clip-so emergancy ppl probally didn't have time to get there. I know when my chick flipped her jeep it took them atleast 15 minutes and they were only 2 minutes away!

the complacity of the people seem so laid back-but yes it probally is shock.

Sucks no matter how you look at it

was the front wheel stuck in the front passanger side(US driving) of the car? thats what it looked like to me

Re: Tragic R1 accident in Europe...

I'm thinking the guy smashed the car, sending him and the rest of his bike over and flipping on the road, a car that size probably began spining which is why you see glass and parts trailed from the direction of the rider. Just like in most accidents I have been in my bike slide further than I did. I'm pretty sure the curb had added some stopping force to him. Thats too bad too I've seen another one like this where a ninja Tboned a car at around 90 and went through the car killing both people in the car and the rider. The people in the car are lucky that the bike hit the front wheel of the car, absorbing most of the impact.
